IAMAW Local Lodge 103, nicknamed ‘Pioneer Lodge,’ is the first Canadian Machinists local, founded in 1890 in Stratford, Ontario.
The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers was certified as the bargaining agent for all employees of BORG-WARNER CANADA LIMITED (now Dana Canada) on January 31, 1968.
I A M A W Local Lodge 2330s first Collective Agreement was on May 5, 1968. The charter was issued on August 1, 1968 and witnessed on September 11, 1968 with 50 members signing on, some of whom are still employed with the current employer DANA CANADA.
Since 2007 several local lodges have merged into LL2330 to join the members of Dana Canada in Cambridge , the first group to merge were the retired members of LL863 who had been employed at Ball Packaging of Burlington, and the active members of LL863 who are employed at H&H Manufacturing in Burlington.
In 2010 the members of LL1547 employed at Anvil and Norfolk County Fire Fighters Station 1 in Simcoe,the members of LL 1673 employed at Flowserve in Brantford and the retired members of LL2374 formerly of Glendale Industries in Strathroy merged and participate fully within the local lodge.
In 2011, the members formally employed at Domclean , Compass and Cedarcroft in Stratford merged into the Local.
In 2012, the members of Local Lodge 171 employed at Lancaster Technologies in Fort Erie, also merged into Local Lodge 103.
